If you’ve ever watched a game show like The Price is Right or Let’s Make a Deal, then you’ve likely seen how some of the prizes are hidden behind curtains. It adds to the suspense and makes everyone watching, including the contestants, eager to see what’s really behind those curtains.
Your life is a lot like a game show stage. There are things behind curtains that you should be eager to investigate, and here’s a critical one for 2026:
🤔Who’s really behind this move?
The truth is, whoever is backing a move is responsible for making it happen. An even harsher truth is that you may be behind some of the moves you’re making and not God.
Why is this important? I shared this during the [last episode] of our podcast:
✨Doing anything in life without God’s involvement, including setting goals, is a setup for failure.
Stick to your plans, and you’ll get what you get. Line up with God’s and you’ll get what He promised, just like this verse explains:
Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed (â€â€Proverbs‬ â€16‬:â€3‬, â€AMPC‬‬).
If you commit and trust God to determine where you’re headed, He will change the way you think. During that process, your thoughts will align with His will or plans already created for your life. This alignment leads to success. I don’t know about you, but success is definitely the outcome I’m looking forward to in 2026! And if you’re in the same category, here’s how to get there:
âś… Pause and Ask Questions
This is so critical this year. Before you head down a path full steam ahead, take a moment and ask this essential question: Who’s really behind this plan? If you can’t answer God with certainty, that’s a red and white flag. It means stop and surrender so you can determine God’s desire before moving forward. And that leads us to the next step.
âś… Pray and Align Your Heart
Prayer is a conversation as I shared in this podcast episode: [Pray Your Way to Clarity]. The end of the conversation isn’t you sharing your plans with God. It’s you aligning your heart with His plans.
After pausing to get to the source of the plan, you must be willing to seek God’s help in determining the plan. This willingness, as Proverbs 16:3 revealed, is the conduit by which God causes our thoughts to become agreeable with His plans. So if you want to know His plans, prayer is the expressway. And that leads us to the final step.
âś… Proceed and Act on What God Said
Proverbs 16:3 is our assurance. If we seek God’s plans, He will provide them. Afterwards, however, it’s up to us to comply.
When God designed us, He included free will or the power to choose. It wouldn’t make sense to pause and ask questions and pray and align your heart and proceed with your own plans anyway. That’s like getting directions from a GPS and driving in the opposite direction. I don’t even have to explain how that’s a waste of time.
A better alternative is to follow through after God reveals the plan. That’s when you officially step into the guarantee that ends Proverbs 16:3: your plans will be established and succeed. Long story shortened, when you act on what God said you will run into what He promised!
Friends, 2026 is too critical to do it your own way. And let’s be honest. You don’t know enough to do anything in life alone anyway.
As you move throughout this year, keep the title of this blog post in mind: who’s really behind this plan? And as I shared earlier, if you can’t answer God definitively, then you know what to do: pause and ask questions, pray and align your heart, and proceed and act on what God said. This strategy is another [STEP] you can take to experience an amazing 2026! [STEP] simply means [SHIFT] towards your eternal purpose. It’s a phrase to help you remember to move closer to who God created you to be.
I’m out of time for this blog post, but I’d love to hear from you.
đź’¬ How has involving God in your plans impacted you? Let me know in the comments.
Whenever God says so, I’ll be back with another blog post. If this conversation resonated with you, check out where it started when you have time: [5 Moves to Make for an Amazing Year].
Joyfully becoming who God created me to be,
